I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! The weather has been so lovely these past days that you can’t help but to dread the next snow that will surely make an appearance eventually 😦 . This weekend , my boyfriend and I, decided to take a little weekend trip to Cleveland. Living in Buffalo, Cleveland is far enough for us to satisfy the urge for a trip without being in the car long enough to want to lose our mind. Everyone should always take the time to run away and just get a breather. Even if funds don’t allow it, then maybe improvise and do a “staycation”. However you decide to do it, time off = greatness!
Anywhooo, back to my great trip. We ended up checking out the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Cleveland Aquarium, and the big mall out there. See below for the deets & some great pictures 🙂
Visiting the aquarium in Cleveland was one my co-worker’s suggestions. He actually proposed to his now wife at this specific aquarium. Isn’t that darling? My boyfriend and I were mostly intrigued by the sharks and sting rays. It wasn’t the most attention grabbing visit but definitely was a nice stop to start off our first day.
Cavaliers VS Spurs
This was the highlight of my weekend! I would have never imagined that going to see the Cleveland Cavaliers play live would have been so interactive and just plain ol’ FUN. There were dancers, 70s skits on the big screen featuring the basketball players, fire, etc. R&B singer Tank sang, and I mean SANG, the pledge of the allegiance. It seems the theme of the night was “groovy”. Boy, was it! One of the members of Kool & the Gang performed during half time which brought it all together. From the crowd’s chants to the songs from way back, who could resist watching great competition and listening to great music with my boo thang. This definitely made it into our photo album! All those breezing through should stop in on a game.
While getting around Cleveland, I got to see some of the most adorable houses & paintings on these older buildings. I am a sucker for beautiful brick & small businesses. We also of course made a stop at the mall. You guys know I love to shop! The sales were actually really good. I picked up a few things from Express, Forever 21, & H&M. The mall, Beachwood Mall, should definitely be a stop if you guys ever are traveling through Cleveland and need something pretty. 🙂
It is always a goal of mine to visit other places and see other things. While Cleveland may not qualify as a “vacation”, it was the perfect weekend trip to end my two week time off from work. Don’t underestimate the fun you can have playing tourist. Discover. Learn. Experience. I mean, that’s what life is for right? 🙂
